The Easter Bunny is on his way and there are plenty of fun activities to do at home. Here are 7 suggestions:

  1. Jelly Bean Guessing Games – grab some basic jelly beans and put in a jar. Ask family members to guess how many candies there are in the jar. The winner will be the one who is closest without going over. You can also get some mixed gourmet jelly beans and take turns guessing what the correct flavor is.
  2. Plant Flowers – Celebrate Easter and spring by planting some tulips or daffodils. The bulbs will grow indoors and can be planted any time of the year.
  3. Make Chocolate Fondue – Melt all the chocolate you just got for Easter and grab those Peeps to dip in the chocolate. You can also use fruit for a healthier option.
  4. Make Brunch Together – Give everyone an assignment and make brunch together. Don’t forget dessert – strawberry shortcake is a good option.
  5. Easter Egg Decorating – Instead of using plastic eggs make your own unique designs. Try this painted animal egg activity. Step it up by inviting family members and making it a virtual decorating party.
  6. Make your own Easter Baskets – Take your baskets to the next level by making your own baskets. Try these paper nests from Martha Stewart.
  7. Easter Egg Hunt – Outside easter egg hunts are awesome. Try creating a hunt with a twist by putting Easter clues inside the eggs instead of candy that direct people to an area inside the house to find the treat.

Well, there’s plenty going on this week as usual and something for everyone. You can check out art, discover Leesburg on First Friday, go shopping in iconic Middleburg, grab a show, go for a pony ride, count butterflies and, of course, see TONS of live music!

Planting plants and flowers are one of my favorite things to do! Good thing there are plenty of places around Leesburg to find unique plants at great prices.

Al’s Orchid Greenhouse – Beautiful Orchid plants in flower available all year around. The 3000 square foot greenhouse is dedicated to orchids and has been around since 1996.

Blue Mount Nursery – A full service nursery carrying trees and shrubs, as well as over 1000 varieties of perennials, traditional and specialty annuals, houseplants, and aquatics. They also maintain a large shopping area filled with statuary, decorative stepping stones, joyful garden stakes, and tabletop fountains.

Country Springs Wholesale Nursery – Offers one of the largest wholesale inventories in the region providing our customers with a diverse selection of high quality plant material.

J. Morris Flowers – A floral design studio with a passion for wedding design, luxury everyday florals, education, and inspiration from the world of flowers.

Loudoun Nursery – Offers tree varieties that are well suited to the mid-Atlantic region – both for the climate and the smaller lots of new residents.

Meadows Farms Nursery – Has a full selection of shade and flowering trees, native plants, Japanese maples, shrubs, groundcovers, and perennial and annual flower selections, including options from the Proven Winners and Simply Beautiful lines. In addition they have garden tools, topsoil, planting mixes, mulches, fertilizers, and pesticides, along with a wide variety of organic products. Right off Route 7!
