Butterfly Release at Magnolia Meadow Farms

15 West Homes September 21, 2023

Things are so much better done together! And, good thing Northern Virginia is full of fun activities to do with family and/or friends! This week we are featuring the Butterfly Release at Magnolia Meadow Farms.

Nestled in the farmland of Frederick County, MD, Magnolia Meadow Farms is a family-run, working farm. The farm is home to a herd of beef cattle, more than 150 acres of hay, corn, and soybeans, as well as pumpkins, gourds, and sunflowers!

BUTTERFLY RELEASE

On Saturday, September 23rd, and Saturday, September 30th, visitors to the farm can participate in the farm’s first Butterfly Release. There will be a group butterfly release of Painted Lady butterflies at 2 pm. Be sure to have your camera ready to capture the moment as the butterflies take flight into the sunflower and wildflower fields. The number of butterflies available for release is limited, so it is best to purchase your farm admission and butterfly online in advance. Admission to the farm is $15/person online and $17/person at the gate. Kids 2 and under are free!

ADDITIONAL FARM ACTIVITIES

Magnolia Meadow Farms offers fun for every member of the family. Visitors can navigate Maryland’s largest corn maze, bounce on the giant jumping pillow, fire apple cannons, and more. Jump on a hayride to access the U-Pick fields and choose from pumpkins, gourds, and flowers. Try the giant slides or mini ziplines, take a ride on a pedal cart, or mine for gems. You can also reserve a private campfire to kick back, relax, and roast some marshmallows. The list of activities goes on and on!

FARM MARKET

Magnolia Meadow Farms also features a market where you can purchase local products and items grown on the farm. Some offerings include goat milk soap, pumpkins, locally raised beef, bakery items, pottery, candles, and more!
