We are lucky enough to live in an area where we can be outside most days of the year. And there are so many things to do in Northern Virginia that we want to make sure you can try new things as well as your tried and true favorites. This week we are highlighting dog-friendly dining and drinking establishments.

In countless homes around the world, there’s a special spot at the family table, but it’s not reserved for a human family member. Instead, it’s where our loyal, tail-wagging companions sit—our dogs. Maybe they don’t actually have a spot at the dinner table, but they are family members and we love to take them with us on our excursions when we can. Lucky for us – and our dogs – there are several dog-friendly dining and drinking establishments around Northern Virginia. Here are a few great places to check out the next time you want to grab a bite and take Fido along.

Bronson Bierhall

Located in Arlington, this traditional German pub loves it when Fido tags along. The large patio offers tons of canine-friendly seating. Inside, the rustic decor and long communal tables make you feel like you have been transported to Germany. The menu boasts a delectable array of German-inspired dishes, from hearty sausages to mouthwatering pretzels. Quench your thirst with a beer from their extensive list of German and domestic craft beers or grab a cocktail if beer isn’t your thing. Check out the Dogs of Bronson Instagram page to see photos of their 4-legged visitors!

Fire Works Pizza

Fire Works Pizza features locations in Leesburg, Arlington, and Cascades and they all offer pup-friendly patio seating. In addition to delicious pizza, they serve terrific salads, sandwiches, and appetizers.  There is even a special menu for the pups with “Fire Woof Brew”, biscuits, chicken, meatballs, and doggie ice cream!

Port City Brewing Company

Unlike other establishments on our list, Port City Brewing allows your dog inside the brewery. Located in Alexandria, the brewery offers tastings, tours, and events at their facility. Events include trivia nights, yoga, music, and bath & brew where you can grab a beer while they give your dog a bath! Port City Brewing does not serve any food but they often have food trucks for patrons to grab a bite to eat while enjoying their beer.

These are just a few of the great spots you will find across Northern Virginia. Find more dog-friendly dining and drinking options here: https://bit.ly/dogfriendlydining or feel free to add your favorite to the list in the comments below and we’ll make sure to highlight them!
